Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS)

An AS/RS is a system that uses computer-controlled machines to handle and retrieve materials from a storage area on demand using goods-to-person technology. One major benefit of an AS/RS is storage space maximization, with these systems often featuring 25,000 inventory locations, multiple aisles and facilitating item storage up to the top of the CSC ceiling (depending on the size of the facility). Another benefit is inventory accuracy, with the system managing internal inventory by consolidating identical products stored in multiple locations.
