Robots

Collaborative robots (cobots) are relatively low cost and easy to implement. They are used to perform repetitive, complex or hazardous tasks, such as transporting supplies or assisting in picking, packing, sorting and storing. Two types of cobots commonly found in CSCs are automatic guided vehicles (AGV) and autonomous mobile robots (AMR).

Not-for-profit U.S. health system

A large, integrated, not-for-profit U.S. health system is deploying AMRs from Locus Robotics in its CSC for LUM picking. The integrated Eliteā„¢ WMS transmits pick tasks to the AMRs, which navigate their way around the CSC directing associates to the pick locations.

This form of intelligent automation streamlines logistical tasks and minimizes human touchpoints for unprecedented efficiency and accuracy.
