Out of the box value
NCL needed a system that was user-friendly out of the box, but flexible enough to support customization, especially in billing and reporting. Elite™ WMS delivered on both fronts.

Automating the billing engine
NCL generates a significant portion of its revenue through accessorial charges — services beyond standard storage and handling. Under the legacy system, these charges were tracked manually on paper, then keyed in later by customer service. If a note was lost or unreadable, the revenue was gone.
Elite™ allowed NCL to embed these charge captures directly into the picking workflow. With custom buttons built into handheld devices, pickers can now log charges in real time before closing out a container. The system associates each charge with the order and feeds it automatically into billing — no paper, no back-and-forth.
“We eliminated the delays, the missed charges and the manual entry. And we gave our team a tool they’d actually use,” said Avdek-Gazey.

Real-time reporting with self-service flexibility
With dozens of shared-space customers, NCL fields constant requests for customized reports, from inventory levels and movements to aging and more.
Using Elite™, the team now builds and automates reports internally without needing IT or vendor intervention. Reports are tailored per customer, with flexible frequency and delivery formats.
“When customers want to change timing or fields, we can do it on the spot,” said Avdek-Gazey. “We’ve gone from reactive to proactive, and that’s been a major shift in how we support our partners.”
